Happy 1st Birthday, Sweet Girl

One year ago today, our precious Piper was born.  Little did I know that she would become one of the loves of my life.  Maybe it's because I am with her all day, but I don't know what I'd do without her.  When Brett is working late or gone recruiting, she keeps me company, gets me out of the house, and gives me snuggles at night.

She absolutely loves her Daddy.  As soon as she hears the garage door when he comes home, she runs to the door and probably bruises her tail from it hitting the wall so hard. while wagging it.  She loves to give Brett kisses.  Most of the time, she'd rather play fetch with him than me.  Even if I'm sitting on the floor throwing the ball to her, she'll return the ball to Brett almost every single time.

Piper is a complete ham.  When I ask if she wants to go for a ride, she can't contain her excitement.  As soon as we're in the garage, she has to be picked up to be put in the car.  She spreads her feet out real far and tries not to get in.  As soon as she's in, she settles down and just stares out the window. She loves it.  When you ask if she wants a bath, she'll run into the bathroom, stand at the tub, and sort of jump when you walk up.  She then digs where the water goes down the drain.  I guess she doesn't know that the hole will fill back up every time.

We absolutely love our little girl and can't wait to see her become a big sister.  With how loving she is, I know she and Henry will get along just fine.  Happy birthday, puppy!! Mommy and Daddy love you!!

Week 22

Hello Week 22. We had another prenatal appointment last Monday.  Henry's heartbeat is still in the 150s, and the doctor says everything is good. I have been experiencing what I think are round ligament pains for the past month or so.  They are extremely uncomfortable.  The worst part is moving sleeping positions too quickly.  I feel like I've pulled an ab muscle (which I probably don't even have anymore).

Based on all the information I received from moms on Facebook, we decided to register at Buy Buy Baby.  Aside from registering when I went with Mom over Christmas, I've been updating and revising Henry's registry as we go.  I have narrowed down Henry's bedding to two different sets, which I'm excited about.  Registering for a baby is SO much more fun than registering for a wedding.  I absolutely love it.  I wasn't sure if registering for a boy would be as fun as a girl, but there are some pretty cute handsome boy things out there.

To finalize, Henry is continuing to tumble in my belly, which is really starting to pop now.  We are excited to meet you in May, little boy.

Week 21

Well, we are more than halfway there.  If you took some time over the holidays to stay off social media, you may not know that we are expecting a boy!  Click here if you want to read more about it.

I skipped on a weekly update last week because we were really enjoying our Christmas and New Years with our families.  One of my favorite memories of the break, really all of 2014, was going to Motherhood Maternity and Buy Buy Baby with my mom.  She was such great help with telling me what looked good and would last the entire pregnancy as my bump grows as well as what we need and could skip on when we were registering.  I will forever remember that one fun afternoon.

Henry is more and more active with each day.  He seems to like moving around a lot between 1 and 3 AM.  Not good for this worn out mom-to-be.  Although I haven't worked since Christmas Eve, I didn't get to catch up on my rest because Henry is so active during the night.  I have been able to sneak in some naps though.

Here is my Week 21 update below.  Please excuse the sweats and messy hair  We didn't get a clear picture after church this morning, and I was too lazy to change to look nice :) I think the sweatshirt makes me a little bigger than I actually am.

I'll be posting about our Christmas and New Years sometime this week so check back for some of the awesome gifts our families gave Henry.

Happy Birthday Hubby

I love that the first blog post I write every year is a happy birthday post to Brett.  There is no better way to start the new year than to celebrate my husband and what a great man he is.

Happy happy 29th birthday to my wonderful husband.  This year will be a big year for you.  You will go from husband and son to husband, father, and son.  I know you will be a WONDERFUL daddy to our Henry.  You already are.  Henry probably already knows Piper's bark and your voice.  Although, he may think his name is Tot and not Henry.  Thank you for being so supportive and patient during my emotional rollercoaster that is pregnancy.  You have been a constant in my ever-changing moods and body.  I love you!!  Now for watching some bowl games...
